Village ladies from Barsana are patiently waiting for traditional fun with wooden sticks at the doorsteps of their homes for arrival of villagers from Nandageon during lathmar Holi, in Barsana on March 9. During Lathmar Holi the ladies get to beat the men from Nandagaon, Krishna's hometown, with big wooden sticks, in response to their teasing.
I traveled with a group of friends from Vrindavan UP to Rajasthan and Goverdhan one day. In the evening I was fortunate to get to participate in Lathmar Holi celebration ! I had to leave my stick in India. I couldn't bring it with me on the plane home to America.
